Haven't heard them since the last days of Tom Baker. Nice to hear them ring as DT closes WoM. I don't believe they were in later Dr Who episodes but if anyone has heard them since, please let me know!
Remember, they were the bells that chimed inside the Tardis when extreme danger was threatening the Doctor and his ship. May have 1st been used before Tom Baker but I don't go back that far. Leave it to RTD to pull this one out of the bag.

Czeusa, I'm sorry, but could you please change your title? This can be considered a spoiler, and there are some people here who have not yet seen Waters of Mars. At the very least remove the words "cloister bell," and just say "spoiler" or something...

It might not be too much of a spoiler, you can hear them in the trailers for WoM...
I have to say, just hearing them scares the crap out of me!! I watched in the Tom Baker years and it always scared him silly to hear them, and it has the same effect on me... not that we don't KNOW what is coming, but it's a fight or flight response, so to speak. I'm wanting to yell "Run, Doctor, RUN!!"

Just never thought it would be considered a SPOILER but I can see where the information could be thought of as such. Sorry everyone but obviously the existence of the Cloister Bells will be a great surprise for those who haven't seen WoM as of yet.

Not that I am one of the ones complaining, but I think they want you to take out the references to the cloister bells in your title, as it gives way too much away....

Were'nt the cloister bells rung at the end of TURN LEFT just after Donna had told the Doctor the two words Rose had told her ie : BAD WOLF ? Then Bad Wolf started appearing everywhere . He ran into the Tardis and the cloister bells rang prompting him to say , 'It's the end of the universe ' ?

Yes, I'm pretty sure they did.
czeusa, you could change your thread title to something like 'Comment re cloister bells **spoilers**' and that would be a bit less of a giveaway. Just a suggestion....
