THANK YOU ROBIN HOOD FANS

I just got done reading through a page and a half of thread topics, and it was almost as much fun as watching Robin Hood. I just wanted to give all of you guys a big cybernet hug to all my friends I have met here and at other FABULOUS boards on the internet. I can't believe the amount of hard work you guys put into these places to makes them so amazing, and I appreciate all your hard work!
Although I haven't met you face to face, I can see your hearts through your postings, and I think this show has brought out the very best people in the world, the cream of the crop, from around the world. I love talking to people that I otherwise would never have met and I feel lucky to have shared this great show. LOVE the actors, and I believe the actors are blessed to have such great fans!
I would like to welcome all the new posters that have popped up during S2, especially those that have just started posting this week. I didn't find this board, and others, until after S1 ended, and I was so upset that I couldn't enjoy RH that I started an enormous web-search. I was welcomed into the 'Robin Hood family' with open arms and made to feel right at home here, and at other classy joints on the internet. Thanks go out to all of you 'big sisters/brothers' who made me feel welcome and I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated that!

CR and all,
I know I've had more fun watching this show than I have any other in so many years! I understand that not everyone likes or has bought into this Robin Hood. I for one have fallen in love with the whole show, the cast, the story line (frustrating as it may be at times). I am just SO GLAD I stumbled into this message board. Makes my obsession not seem so totally weird
You've all been wonderful, funny, thoughtfull fans. Cheers to all of you! Thanks to whole Robin Hood cast and crew ... don't know that any of them will ever fall into an ensemble like this ever again. And to BBCA for hosting this board.
-mizz ^ ^WE are Robin Hood

Ah, that is soooooo nice of you! I feel the same way. I was thinking last night ...this is it. The series is ending. People will move on with their lives and we'll go our ways but I can't remember having the opportunity of engaging in conversation with a nicer group of cyber people!
Long live Robin Hood! I too give my thanks to cast and crew and boards for a GREAT show! Loved all of it ....well most of it anyway..sniff, sniff.
My thanks to all!

Thank-you closetrobin for this remarkable thread.
I think you all know, or should know by now, that I am an absolute technophobe. I really don't like computers much. But, once I figured out how to get to this site, and got the welcome of a lifetime; it felt like home. I have since killed the old computer, got a new one, new high-speed and am zipping around like I really know what I'm doing (but you all know I don't) The spoiler part was the hardest; and I left for a while. But I couldn't stay away because I missed talking to all of you about the show (and our darlin' Jonas) This is a tremendous community we have built here, and are continuing to build. Many people have come here, and have said how warm and supportive we are here; as opposed to their experiences elsewhere. So, I guess we are the envy of the other sites. And that's because we are great people who are here in support of the great cast and crew of a great show. AND we like peanut butter and all kinds of chocolate.
I don't think this is goodby. We just need to breathe after this roller coaster of a season. And after we breathe, we chat again.
Hat's off to all of you. You're simply the best!

Lucky- I want you to know that I am happy to have you here and wish you a hearty welcome. This IS a wonderful board and we do care for each other very much. Whatever happened on another site, that is not the kind of people we are. This is a good safe place. Thanks for joining!
britDJ said:I don't think this is goodby. We just need to breathe after this roller coaster of a season. And after we breathe, we chat again. OMG! Now I'm sad! I didn't even think about that. No more episodes to chat about together. *cries* I just can't deal with that. I have loved coming here at all times of the day (and night) to read and post with you guys. It's been such a blast. I have never felt excluded being new, always welcomed. We must find a way to chat, about anything, somewhere. I really hope this discussion board doesn't close during the long break.
I feel like that graduation song by Vitamin C is playing "As we go on, we remember, all the times we, had together.....) Am I being dramatic?

Now we know that the ending's not pleasin', for what happens has no rhyme or reason. Although this is tragic, the show was still magic, so together we'll wait for next season!

Joanie won't have told you this because she's so modest but when she travelled over for the recent Jonas convention she also went to Sherwood and they didn't have a poster of the current Robin Hood. Shocking I know! So she gave them a poster that she'd won in the con raffle. How kind is that. She's a true Angel and a true Robin Hood fan.

This is the first discussion board I have ever joined and I am so glad I did! You all gave me warm welcomes and listened to my insight on my obsession! : ) You all also helped me not feel so wierd that I am in love with a cutie that is halfway around the world ; ) I have never been as interested in a show as much as I have been in this one. After every episode I have to run to the computer so I can see what everyone is saying. I am really going to miss this during the long wait for Season 3. I am glad to be considered a part of the "community" of such wonderful and kind people. I hope to be back here as much as I can. Ya'll are awesome!Hugs to everyone!! LONG LIVE ROBIN HOOD! : D ~Shell (class of 09)

Hello. I am a fan in the USA who discovered the show midway through season 2 on BBC America and became hooked. Growing up a fan of Camelot, Robin Hood, and other classic British legends, I just had to watch RH once I discovered it. I just became a "BBC American" this morning because I was interested in seeing what other fans of the show thought about the season 2 finale. I must say that I was disappointed in the ending since I feel Marian is an integral part of the legend of Robin Hood. But, I have enjoyed "catching up" on many of the posts here in the discussion boards. It seems like a group of good, nice people who respect each other & each other's opinion. I may not post very often, especially while waiting for the new season to begin, but I look forward to the interesting discussions posted here on the boards.

Good morning from Charlotte, NC in the USA.
We watched the Season Finale to Season 2 last night on BBC Amercia.
Has the show been canceled? The way it ended was heartbreaking and the only thing I can assume is that they ended it the way they did because of the cancellation.
Any info would be appreciated.
I did notice last night that Season 2 will be released on DVD on August 5, so at least a little something positive after last nights show.
Again, any info on whether the show has been canceled would be appreciated. I discovered Robin Hood on BBC America with only 2 shows to go in Season 1 and was immediately hooked.
It's going to be sad to see such great writing.....and a great cast go away if this really is the end.
Thanks!
Oh...and sorry Little John.....but yesterday was NOT a good day to die........but everyone always remember:
WE ARE ROBIN HOOD!

Thanks.....but I just find it so hard to believe the would kill off Marion for good since she was a central component of the Legend of Robin Hood, plus also have two of the "gang" stay in the Holy Land.
Just seems like they were saying "goodbye".
Anyway, thanks for the info, I sure appreciate it.

Hello from sunny South Florida,
I agree that Marion was a central part of the show. I liked her. I was a fan of Robin Hood, but this is my last season. I have watched every show from the beginning, even the repeats. Marion dying was totally unacceptable. I don't know what the rest of the fans think, but I've seen Robin show more emotion in other episodes. For example, when Marion died the first time there was more passion. I didn't see many tears from Robin, knowing he will never see this woman alive again. This is the woman he planned to spend the rest of his life with. If anything they should have let Marion die in the 1st season. They brought her back only to kill her again, what seems like for real this time. I could have accepted her death then because I was only invested for 1 season. BBC what were you thinking!!!!!!
Carter would have been a great addition to the gang. I can't believe he ran right into the Sheriff's arrow. Carter is a solider and I thought too smart for that. I will not be tuning in for Season 3, unless I find out that this Season Finale was a dream. I mean they could have let them be married happily for a little while and then have some other tragedy separate them. There was a lot of death this season. Will Scarlett's father, Marion's father and now Marion. Who's writing this stuff?

I would like to join in the thanks too. I originally just joined to watch but found myself drawn into discussions. It is a pity we are all/most? devastated by the end, but at least it has united us all in one opinion about the series.

What next? Little John takes up pottery and opens a shop up in London?

Psstt.....careful what you speak into existence! LOL! I would not be surprised by ANYTHING the writers decide to do next.
I think TPTB have fiddled enough with the legend - but I am glad to see that all of that has sort allowed all of the true fans of this show to bond. We all got it in the shorts - and that is the plain truth of it.
Robin Hood - shaky decisions by the writers - but *great* fans!!

And pray tell - what is the lovely child-bride doing up so late on a Sunday night? OK, I'll be serious - I do think it's great that so many new folks are posting, just very sorry that the finale was so horrific and wish we could all be discussing how wonderful it is that Robin and Marian are together, Allan is back in the gang, Much is fairly happy, Djaq and Will have found each other, Little John is going to see Alice again and King Richard is finally returning to England. If this sounds similar to a wish list for S3, it is.

That was so funny - Little John taking up pottery - I can't imagine that will happen - but I know what you mean - I am going to miss Marian and Will and djac - it will make for a very interesting season 3 - who will they bring in to replace some of these characters - only 4 in Robin Hood's gang - see them ride off was very hard to watch - Marian not buried near her Dad - left in the Holy Land - after how hard she fought for England. I know there is no way they could have brought her home - but it was sad to think of her left there.

Not to sound dorky or anything, but I still want to cry every time I think of how the show ended the other night. Like many others, I just discovered this site and put up my first post last week. Now I just feel sad...as though it's all going to be over as soon as I've found it. Thank goodness there will be a Season III, but why end it there? Cannot that decision be changed by legions of supportive fans?
Thank you to the poster that reminded me that WE ARE ROBIN HOOD. That made me smile and made me feel a part of something special.

Welcome Cinderg,
I feel like you do...I just found this show and this board. I sure didn't want the season to end. But I can imagine that it would be very hard to keep an ensemble like they have together for many more seasons. Esp. since they film so far away from their home (Hungary). They also might have trouble keeping the story line from becoming worn out. That being said...they didn't even know if it was going to go past the first season...so you never know. Keep the faith.

So let me get this right.......we lose Marion.......but we get Friar Tuck? Sorry......I think that is a bad trade off.....
......and Jonas is leaving at the end of the season anyway.........but I doubt the show will be back for Season 4 anyways......
Wow....what a death spiral for such a great show...

Well said CTR.
This place has been a haven for me even when times got really tough this year with my health. It was so sweet of so many of you with the good wishes and PM's.
It is so comforting to find a group so willing to forgive so many of us fans of team leather and understand the Savior complex women among you. Nice to be in such good company.

ok, I am digging this thread back up. Sorry, I am just a little sad. What happened to us? Do we miss our Robin Hood Series so very badly that we just started the inhouse fighting?
I know we all like each other, I really don't believe that we meant to be offensive. Some of the threads got locked down? Wait a minute! holy cow, batman! We have managed to have a safe haven to banter back and forth. I really enjoy the debate, I never thought it would go to mudslinging!
Where is the board I know and love? Can I have it back please? I miss the show, and I love my friends here!
come on, I will buy a round of drinks for everyone on the other thread about the gang's favorite drink. I think we might need a good stiff drink after what I just read!
pass me some strongbow, and I would like Robin to be my server please

looks like I missed the beginning, the middle and the end of our passionate noodle flinging. I am glad we are all a happy family again! That's what families do, right? Fight and bicker and then hug and cry and all of those rolled up in one? Huzzah!
I am part of other blogging boards from certain fansites, and I LOVE it there, but what I think makes this one so unique and special is we have fans from everywhere, that see things differently, and I think that is pretty cool.
Never was a Guy fan, but now I can appreciate his character and get to know Richard Armitage through this site. I didn't know I was such an Allan fan until I realized I was gonna have to fight over him (yippee!). see, that's what is so amazing about this place, so awesome. We get to see the world through someone else's eyes. This, I like.

No fighting over Allan...that would waste precious time and energy that could be better spent elsewhere. We just need a doable schedule to follow for our Allan sharing plan!

lucy, you are my kinda lady. You missed me and RobinofLoxsley chasing each other for him, though. She is younger than me, though, and I had to give him up out of sheer exhaustion (dangit!). Now I guess you and I and ww are on for the chase. However, it seems you have all come up with brilliant scheduling and all.... well! THAT I am not too tired for! heehee

Being as we are all tired...what with work, children, life in general...WW and I decided that it would be best to design a workable schedule for Allan to adhere too. He is after all the youngest of the lot (though not by much) and he should be more able to handle the rigorous travel required
Glad to add you into the group!!

I know - Allan has a huge following here. I have learned a lot about him from all his loyal fans - I really loved in the commentaries that Lucy said all her single girlfriends called her when they saw Allan without a shirt on - I can't imagine what happened when Sir Guy was shirtless - I am sure she had to turn off her phone!!! and her voicemail was full of messages. Lol!

The best part of that commentary was when they mentioned that apparently Joe was nervous about doing the shirtless scene. I think he only needs to read these MB's to get over any insecurities he may have!!

he was nervous? awww. cute factor just went up! (was that possible?).
I hope he doesn't read the messageboards! We had a fine gentleman peek in on our tug-of-war over Allan, and I think I saw the shade of red he was blushing at our postings! heehee. I don't know, maybe it WOULD be good for Joe to see it. I sense he has some pretty rabid fans out there. I wonder who they could be.......

Joe is shy and modest....I wouldn't want to overload him...he could just read something to me (book, newspaper, magazine, computer manual, physics textbook, the what doesn't matter). I just love listening to that fantastic voice coming out of that mouth, topped by those eyes!!!
Wow...my glasses are fogged as is my computer screen!!!!
I will merely re-iterate that I just adore his accent!!!

haha! lucy, you want them to read you a book. I look at the TV screen and sigh deeply and whisper, "He is sooo dang cute... I just want him to come over to my house and clean my windows, do some dishes, maybe mop the floor."
That's all. Just a little 'light housework'. I don't want to ruin my marriage or run off with the guy. I just want him to feed me some peeled grapes. heehee.
so, he can read you a book and he can clean my house.

Now that you mention it....I do have some yard work that needs done. There's nothing wrong with a hot sweaty shirtless Joe, maybe with a little dirt/soil. He can read me to sleep after he has a shower....
The only question is what to do with the husband in during that time???
Doing yard work, housework, or simply reading...I don't think hubby would allow Joe in to accomplish any of the above!!! Dang-it....see this is where I would need Joe to be more like Allan and have a couple of plans for getting in.."Do you want clever or really clever?"

haha! Loved that line! Allan is just coming over during the day while your husband is at work, and there isn't any hanky-panky, just a little bed time story, some light housework getting done. Heck, you husband ought to be thrilled, the house is clean and you are happy!

If Sir Guy came to my house - I agree with Lucy I would have him read to me - too- I love listening to the sound of his voice - deep and filled with emotion. Although I read in some interview that he said he did not like the sound of his voice - I was like are you kidding me. I love that about him. He could read the phone book, an instruction manual, an encyclopedia - the sunday paper - I will make him breakfast and he can read me the Sunday paper. What a perfect day. No housework or yardwork involved - although how can I get him to read to me with his shirt off?? I will think of something Lol!

Shirt off??? Do you want clever or really clever?
Spill some oj or coffee on him while you are serving that breakfast. If you are lucky or crafty you might get his pants too. Then you can offer to wash them for him...
After he eats, while his clothes are in the washer/dryer, he can read you that paper!!

Lucy - you are so funny - I was trying to be nice only wanting his shirt off - I was just laughing out loud alone in my office - hopefully no one heard - I don't think I could handle seeing him without his pants on and remain a lady!! The temptation would just be too great - what is a girl to do? Sir Guy sitting in my kitchen in his underwear reading me the Sunday Paper - could I stand it - I would have to be in heaven!!! To good to be true! Lol

What's that saying, something like "in for a penny, in for a pound"...channel your inner Phelps and go for the Gisborne Gold!!!
So what if he has to fan you with the paper for a few minutes before you are calm enough for him to begin reading to you. Keep a paper bag handy for any hyperventilating, you'll be fine!
If I could get Joe to read me the complete works of Shakespeare...I think I would be too busy just staring like a grinning idiot to even notice. That's a lie, if he had his shirt off, I would notice...but then the book would have to put aside and the body shots brought in....
Great, now my temperature and blood pressure are up again...
I'm off to go fan myself or maybe a cold shower!!!

Didn't I read on here somewhere that he is on the shy side- do you think he could handle all the praise - he doesn't seem to be the type to let it go to his head, though. I do wish he would join in on the commentaries - they seem to have so much fun doing them.

I heard that, too. That he, nor his father, do any interviews.
the more we rabid fans can get of him, the happier we are!
I like the actors when they are a little shy, instead of full of themselves, thinking they are God's gift to this earth. I know you have to have a healthy ego to even consider the acting business, and that is fine, but I think sometimes they forget what the real world is like, and the fine people that are in it.

They should make a feature on this board where you can flag the ones you want to respond to so they don't get lost after you respond to one and the orange dots go away and then unflag them as you do.

britegray, I agree. Something that makes what we are reading in the threads checked off, but what we haven't gotten to, still flagged. I have been going back through the threads to try and catch up, but get lost because I haven't read the complete thread before it says I have read it all!
And, if they could make it so our response is next to the person we are responding too?
And, have the page load quicker so that my brain can connect to the keyboard before I lose my thought while wait for the page to load? somtimes, while I am typing my reply, the page freezes up. I know it isn't my computer, because I can open a different tap, load up another website and zip through the pages before this site even gets around to thinking about opening the page!

Hello CTR, soooo good to have you back and thanks a million for bringing back this great thread.
Things have been getting a little "heated" a bit of late and some "discussions" have been shut down, (and appropriately so). However, believe it or not, the fact that we do and can voice our passion for this beautiful legend and the very special place it holds in all of hearts, is IN ITSELF, cause for great celebration, not regret.
I know all of us have a spouse, friend, child,(ren), relative, or workmate, who thinks we just may have "gone off the bend" on this one. (Thank YOU tolerant spouses, loving friends, understanding relatives, mortified children, (just wait till YOU have kids LOL), and curious workmates,(have I left anyone out? apologies if I have LOL), You have allowed us our space to reflect on what inspires us so much, (and contributes to making us the person of your respect/affection/admiration/love/out-right concern(?)LOL) Round of applause everyone.......(BIG Clapping of Hands here for ALL of them.)
You see, one of the reasons,(among so many) we hang out here is that we get to share our thoughts, loves, hates, opinions, fears, tears, laughs, and hugs. We get to communicate with each other in a uniquely public and yet oh so VERY intimate way. (Our electronic/cyberspace "pen-pal" club, (Boy! Bet I just dated myself with THAT term didn't I ?LOL). The most important aspect for me? We UNDERSTAND each other...we do not always agree, but even if we disagree, we somehow manage to find our way back to sharing once again. The very fact that we take such effort to have our say, even if the words carry an angry, critical , or intolerant tone, proves how very much we do CARE for this forum and that we WILL expose the feelings of our hearts and that which we hold most dear to each other; and THAT takes no small amount of courage. So, I am proud to be a part of what has come to be such a "Cyber Family"; and like family,(and our Dear Gang of Outlaws and Villans) we will NOT always get along, but I think will find a way to agree to disagree. (Even if we manage to hurt each others feelings on occasion?)
Thank You for letting me be some small part of all of this. You have been an inspiration to so many of my kids on this ward. (Yes, REALLY, you have.) Some of you actually have a little bit of a following among my vets. They have asked me not to reveal just who you are, so out of respect for their wishes, I'll just let you all know they think ALL of you are really something!)
So folks, if ANYONE ever doubts the value of The Legend and its incredible ability to reach across the centuries and influence the thoughts and actions of us in this new millenium, I invite them to look at the words written and spoken here. Its an impressive record. (I think we have outdone TW now to the tune of over 220K? thats what my kids tell me anyway).
So NEVER Doubt It WE ARE ROBIN HOOD Always

Wow!!! I am speechless....
That was beautifully written. I too am proud to be a part of this (sometimes dysfunctional) family! I enjoy all the banter, discussions and ideas even if sometimes some of the family gives me the urge to "kill 'em, bury 'em, dig 'em up, and kill 'em again"!
Hugs and Loves to everyone, Hoodie and Baddie lovers alike!!

I agree that was beautiful - it brought tears to my eyes - Honestly!! I am proud to be a part of this wonderful group - I feel so alone sometimes - being divorced and a single mom after all these years - and to have all of you to talk to and to share our love of all things Robin Hood. It has really lifted my spirits - sorry - tears are in my eyes and falling down my face. Thank you - for letting me be a part of all of this!

PR...you're just laughing on the wrong side of your face.
This is a safe haven for me, too. I am single mom....not too many things going on besides momming, working and sleeping these days. However, I've allowed myself this magnificent obsession. I try to remember that it is just a tv show based on the silver threads of a golden legend. I didn't mean to get hooked; it just happened. I think that it's heartbreaking that the writers seem to have made muck out of some great story lines. That said, this has been a blast! I will continue to visit as long as it remains fun and doesn't get me fired. Hugs to all of you.

pennyroyal, and mizzmeow, well said, giant cyber hugs, and to you pokeygirl, all of you. I love the banter, the disagreeing, the points of view, and, penny, mizz, although I am not a single mom, my marriage has gone through a tragic and strange twist, and I have this board to share myself and enjoy others.
What was it you said, mizz? 'However, I've allowed myself this magnificent obsession. I try to remember that it is just a tv show based on the silver threads of a golden legend. I didn't mean to get hooked; it just happened'
and this board is one of my favorite places to do it! I think ya'll might be frightened by how much I have enjoyed coming here, something of a salve for the soul?

I wonder if fans of cash in the attic or other reality TV are as passionate about a show like we all are here. Shall we arrange to have our next big bust up at christmas and then kiss and make up for the new year.

Hey, all.......
Like many others, I only joined this board after the horrible S2 finale...I was mad, sad and was looking for others who felt the same. I had watched RH since the beginning, and was surprised how quickly I had become invested in these wonderful characters and this enduring legend.
I had never been a part of a discussion board before.....they always seemed to me to be filled with OMG<OMG<OMG - spewing adolescent girls.
So I was surprised and delighted to discover a group of intelligent, articulate and witty ADULTS who have challenged me, encouraged me...and amused me no end. I have come to feel a personal connection with you and I so appreciate "our little corner of the world".
We may not always agree, but, like any family, we can put our differences aside and remember the bonds that hold us together. Having lost too many family members in the last few years, I am grateful for all the ones that are left...so let's keep in mind all the good things about our "family".
Let's keep our passion directed, not against each other, but toward preserving our Legend.
WE ARE ROBIN HOOD !!!

The Mods apparently have a very 'hands-off' approach to modding these boards. I hope the folks over on the Primeval boards can work it out like the posters on this board have.

Hey there ladykate, (And of course our entire on line RH Community),
when I came across this "golden oldie" of a thread, I resurrected it primarily for the sake of the "newbies" ; not only on line but for the new vets who have since come to join us on the ward(s) and have participated in our group discussions and Saturday night viewing sessions about so very many things "Hood".
(Just got through viewing the new on set photos from the Ridley Scott RH film, VERY interesting. Think we found one of Cate Blanchet as Marian walking through a village marketplace disguised as a soldier. Turns out Mr. Scott has made The Sheriff something of minor villain and chose the more historically correct(?) Kingdom of France as the more dangerous and powerful threat to England's sovereignty. Hmmm...this film is starting to sound better all the time, no?)
So many of us joined the RH forum or were motivated to start posting after the painful S2 ending. Looking for a way to express our collective dismay, shock, anger, frustration, and even outright grief about a character who in fact, may not have existed ,(as least as she was written at any rate). However, what I think struck us most of all about the situation was the WAY this young woman met her end and of course, that HER end just might mean the end of The Legend as we had known it, (and most important) and all it had come to represent over the centuries.
Looking back it strikes me, that by snatching, well .........lets say?..."defeat from the jaws of victory" (as our wonderful KA/The Sheriff remarked about his adopted "son", Guy of Gisborne), the writers chose to set The Legend on a road not traveled before (GOT to give them points for that one folks!), and at the same time managed to unite the fans (on BOTH of The Pond), in their love for The Legend
AND
(perhaps UN-intentionally?), create not only a still on-going debate and discussion about ALL of our legends (and maybe for generations to come?),
and what they MEAN to all of us, and most important, HOW to use the WAY we carry them inside us, but hopefully,
give the lives and sacrifices of ALL those who came before, carry MEANING. All this so that THEIR contributions will not only be remembered, but KEPT ALIVE throughout time, and carry NEW significance for the next generation. So the question now remains, how will WE pass down this beloved tale and all it means to US for THEM.
An obvious means to accomplish this "duty" is by that of electronic media, such as this laptop, but also most significantly, by the way WE carry The Legend inside US. and decide for ourselves what it means to EACH of us, EVERY day. After all, in was in THIS way that The Legend grew from a local "urban legend" into a world renowned tale, beloved the world over. Its been called the oldest living Legend of the English speaking world. (once again, emphasis on that world LIVING)
Therefore, by what ever means WE chose to keep it alive, (notice that keeping it INTACT as we have come to know it , is NOT necessarily a given here),
ALL of us are making a unique contribution, (the first time in the history of The Legend using such a means, (that of cyberspace), has been and is important. The best part? ....the audience being reached is larger than ever before, and therefore its influence is felt (and hopefully ACTED upon and put to USE), by more people than Robin or Marian could have dreamed.
The official comment by BBCA was that "we have been honored to be the latest custodians of The Legend"....implying that now they have passed The Torch to another generation. Being story tellers, or "generational scribes" was probably not OUR original intention, but like the first generation who gathered together in that legendary forest so many centuries ago,
we came together to comfort, encourage, share our pain, dismay, a deep sense of abandonment, and even a fear of what might happen to something precious as we once knew it. What has happened is the creation of a unique on line community, that has joined the various RH sites
(created since the birth of public use of "cyber space"),
in the centuries old effort to carry on the grand and glorious tradition of "sharing our deepest selves"
(to use a phrase from Jennifer Roberson's "Lady Of The Forest", one of our wonderful On Line RH Book Club offerings).
and not only with our prosterity, but with EACH OTHER.
For me, it has developed into an unexpected and invaluable tool of therapy for an extraordinary group of veterans on BOTH sides of The Pond (the affectionate name for the Ocean named after another one of our "lost" legends, the Kingdom of Atlantis).
ALL of YOU should know, that you have been an INVALUABLE part of THEIR healing process EVERY time you post, comment, complain, laugh, wink, cry, and or shout (in all your very beautiful and lovable ways). The Guys, the medical/adminstrative staff(s), and the volunteers have learned SO much from ALL of you!!
I already know what you have meant to The Guys, but believe it or not, folks, sometimes its hard to put into words,
(OK, I can hear the chuckling out there...I do tend to make some rather long winded posts, LOL), to say what all of you mean to me. (at present it will take some time to find just the right words, but find them I will, I promise!).
But we have all changed each other in some profound ways. And I think ways that will take some time (years even), to fully realize.
So, yes, when the producers said that "Marian's death is only the beginning",
I dare say that even THEY had NO IDEA just what they set in motion.
And you know what?....I can hardly wait to see just how far that prophecy may reach when we get to our new Cyber Forest Home.
(Just remember for those of you who have not pmd me, we may have only a few more weeks left until these boards are shut down by Admin, so send your preferred e-contacts as soon as you are able. I'll give out the address of our On Line Home via e-mail as "The Sisters" (AKA: BBCA Admin) do not allow links to outside sites from this one.)
Thank You All And Luv Ya Pokeygirl Hugs From The Sherwood Warriors and as always

Me too! I never joined a discussion group before this. I was sooooooooo mad and soooooooooooo disappointed after the S2 finale and none of my friends watch the show so it was so nice to find other fans with which to share my misery. I have since tried a few other boards but this is the only one that "took". I raise my tankard of meade to the lot of us... Long live the legend!!!! (and the smirk)

Thanks, PG, once again, for your insightful thoughts on this show! Everyone's comments add so much!
Like simnsays, I have never been on a discussion board before, except briefly years ago (a pet loss support group when I was having a hard time coping with the loss of one of my beloved kitties) It's really not my thing.
But after discovering RH and this board, just had to get involved and give my $.02 worth. Other than the DH, who is only mildly interested, I don't have anyone else to talk to about my favorite show.
My apologies in advance, before this board closes, for my endlessly Guy-centric posts, for anyone who finds it trying on their nerves--LOL!

Well MM,
I don't mind one bit about the "Guy-centric" commentaries, (as a HUGE RA fan myself, I say Bravo!),
But remember, you can carry on your "Guy-centricities" to your heart's content when we get to our new CFH (Cyber Forest Home).
If you have not done so yet, pm me with any preferred e-contact, and I'll be happy to share the address via e-mail any time.

There is such a feeling of warmth on this thread - like being inside of a hug!!! I'm completely blown away!
I've just read the entire thread, and you people truly have something wonderful here. I wish I could reply to every post that I found moving in the thread, but to do that would take more time than I could possibly have in a day, so I will simply say here: You all are beautiful.
I am a newbie, and so I don't know any of you very well. It sounds like everyone has a reason to be here. Of course, I have my own opinions about the show, and the events that have transpired, but even if that is the vehicle that brought us all to this site, it certainly seems that there is a far greater reason why you all have stayed.
In any case, I have a lot more threads to read and a lot of catching up to do!
